I create art that is honest and feels true to me at that moment and that I believe helps strike a chord with the viewer. I am primarily inspired by light falling on a subject and creating a play of color, shapes and shadow. People, the universality of unspoken stories and the beauty and challenge of rendering the human face interest me. I also am inspired by the ocean, bright colors, simple poetry and elements of minimalist design.

I was raised in Chennai, India in a very creative environment by parents who taught me to see beauty and joy in even the simplest of things. I went on to pursue my Masters in Biotech and worked in the area of neural stem cells in San Diego, CA. I dabbled in art along the way. Some years ago, I had my son, took a break from work and, with the encouragement of my husband & family, got into art more seriously.

A lot of art making, learning from wonderful teachers, a move across continents, teaching, selling, shows and a second kid and maternity break later... here I am looking forward more than ever to make the art I feel most inspired to create. I live in Bangalore, India and have artworks in homes across India and the US. I am open to art enquiries and commissions from around the world.
